The land cover and land use classifications in the MapBiomas collection are based on mosaics generated from Landsat images. A specific mosaic has been created for each of the years evaluated (1985-2024). Each mosaic is generated from a spatial integration of the different Landsat scenes present and a temporal integration of the scenes obtained in each period, performed pixel by pixel. These temporal intervals were defined, in each region, based on the ability to discriminate the main classes of the map to improve the classification results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
